In as poetic a manner as possible, what do you do all day?
An archeologist of a different nature, I spend my days unearthing hidden truths, polishing them up, and presenting them to the world.
You’re given $10,000, a passport, and a weekend away from family, loved ones and pets, where do you go and what do you do?
I would go to Malta and dive with conservationists to observe seahorses in their natural habitat. Then, I’d donate whatever money I had left to support the continued research and preservation of the species.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I’m a writer who likes looking at things more than reading. I’m inspired by all kinds of art and design like Brutalist architecture, M.C. Escher, geometric shapes, mid-century modern art and furniture, textile patterns, all sorts of animation, and comic books.
Do you collect anything?
I love to curate every little thing in our home. So, I’m more of a collector of a lot of different things like books (for looking at, not reading), posters, vinyl records, mid-century modern furniture and housewares including sculptures, bookends, lamps, and West German pottery. More recently I’ve been collecting and wearing snapback hats and sneakers.
If you had a DeLorean and access to a flux capacitor what would you go back and tell your 16-year-old self?
You’re an artist. Don’t wait until you’re 40 to start painting and drawing. Do it now.
