Chris Hayes
Managing Partner, Global New Business Development
Chris Hayes is Managing Partner, Global New Business Development, of Young & Rubicam. Hayes is an experienced agency veteran with nearly two decades of marketing experience. He is best-known for his innovation in the digital space, entrepreneurial passion and global experience.
Hayes joined Y&R from Euro RSCG 4D, where he was the marketing director for Europe. Overall responsibilities included overseeing new business, social media, marketing and public relations. He secured relationships with key brands including Unilever, Adidas and Danone. He also served as the global brand director for Unilever.
Prior to Euro RSCG 4D, Hayes was founder and CEO of BARC, a leading skin care company. Under Chris’ leadership, the company built a niche in the competitive men’s skin care category, successfully secured national retail distribution agreements, and orchestrated a spokesperson partnership with NFL star Reggie Bush.
Previously, Hayes held a series of senior level executive positions for Euro RSCG. He was the senior vice president, marketing services for Euro RSCG Worldwide, where he was instrumental in developing global digital strategies for market leading brands, including MTV, Miramax, Sesame Street, American Express and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Before that he served as general manager of Middleberg Euro RSCG (formerly Middleberg + Associates), a digital agency within the Euro RSCG network. Hayes originally joined Middleberg when his online branding company, Hayes Partners, was acquired in 1998.
Before entering the agency world, Hayes held top marketing positions for internet pioneering companies, including Interport Communications and Softbank Interactive Marketing.
Hayes launched his career in the mobile space as the first employee of i3 Mobile, the world’s first wireless content specialist, where he went on to become head of marketing of a publicly traded company at the age of 25.
In addition, Hayes is often featured in prestigious media outlets, including CNN, The New York Times, Adweek, and AdAge, and was included in “Buzz,” a book on technology trends written by Marian Salzman.
Hayes is also the founder and director of the Integrated Marketing Institute at New York University, where he teaches online marketing and social media courses.
Hayes earned a B.A. in American Studies from Fairfield University and resides in NYC.
