Cannes Lions has just begun and we couldn’t be more excited! If you don’t have the chance to fly half-way across the globe to attend the festival, Lions Live, also known as, “Creativity on Demand”, gives anyone access to a plethora of sessions. Here are Y&R’s top picks:
TUESDAY, JUNE 20

Google is hosting a talk at the Lumiere Theatre called “Machine Learning for Everyone.” David Singleton, Google’s Engineering VP, and Jared Cohen, President of Jigsaw, will discuss how Machine Learning is providing insights into human behavior. They will also explore how data allows engineers and policy experts to foster creativity and combat cyber bullying.

A few hours later in the same theater, Translation is hosting a session called “How Athletes and Brands Can Change the World.” Steve Stoute, Founder and CEO of Translation, Pam El, NBA CMO, and Dawn Hudson, NFL CMO, will discuss how sports leagues are building innovative partnerships that capitalize on the collective power of athletes and brands.
THURSDAY, JUNE 22

Gender Equality has been a hot topic lately and in the session “Creativity and Responsibility: Using Our Voices to Promote Gender Equality,” Proctor & Gamble will be speaking about the importance of brands using their voices for good. Marc Pritchard, P&G’s Chief Brand Officer, Tina Brown, CEO of Tina Brown Media, Madonna Badger, Founder and CCO of Badger & Winters, and Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, will join forces to discuss how brands can use their creative voices in a world where 67% of consumers believe brands have more power to create change than government.
FRIDAY, JUNE 23

As Cannes comes to a close, Friday night one of our favorite sessions is taking place at the Lumiere Theatre: the Cannes Debate hosted by WPP founder and CEO, Sir Martin Sorrell. He will be joined by Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots and Ron Howard, Academy Award-winning director and co-Chairman of Imagine Entertainment. Together they will discuss the intersecting worlds of sports, cinema, and marketing communications.
